We start 2017 and it is the moment to take good resolutions. What is your advice to start this year in good health?

Drink minimum 2 liters of water everyday

You’ve already heard about it, it is really important to hydrate yourself to keep balance and a healthy function of the brain. You can also lose weight by drinking water before the meal.

Sleep minimum 8 hours

It is necessary to sleep a minimum of 8 hours per night to stay in shape and develop a good lifestyle. It will reduce the impact on your mental health, such as having mood swings for example.

Eat fruit instead of candy

You like eating candy because it contains transformed sugar as, for example, high fructose corn syrup. Fruit contains natural sugar with high-fibre. Fibres are really good for your health and will help you to digest sugar slowlier. It will make you less addictive.

Swap the butter on your toast with mashed avocado.

Avocados are a good source of healthy fats. This green fruit is a mainstay on the “superfood” list. It’s high in nutrients like potassium, magnesium, vitamins C and E, and fiber.

Learn how to cook to eat healthier

It is essential to eat fresh food rather than frozen food or ready meals. The fresher the food is,  the more it will be of a nutritional value. This is interesting if you want to have a healthy diet and want to stay in good health.

Wash and dry you hands regularly

Washing hands with water and soap allows you to get rid of germs and drying off hands prevent bacteria. It is a good way to prevent infections.

Most of managers swear by the relaxing technique. It can help you handle stress, improve memory and awareness, and lower pressure. So, I suggest you to meditate for 30 minutes a day and 5 days a week. You will see the result.

Read a book to relax

Stop with only using the internet for your amusment and read a book. It will reduce your stress and develop your knowledge.

Turn off your phone from time to time

You will achieve a state of complete relaxation. Do it also before sleeping to maximise the moment of falling asleep.

Move your work desk near a window

I encourage you to work in a desk with windows to have a better physical activity and better sleep.

Nourish those close relationships

Then, it is necessary to nourish social contact. It’s the key for a happy life and a good health.

As a Doctor, would you insist on the necessity of practicing sport regulary?

Of course, doing physical exercise is a necessity and there is no doubt that it’s good for body and soul. I really invite people to start moving. An old quote tells that life is movement and movement is life. A sport club is a real temple of movement that might be a qualified “temple” of health and wellbeing. Moving is one of essential pillars of health and impact all of our bodies. It plays the role of an “antioxidant” and anti-aging by empowering the muscle tone and generate a psychic wellbeing. The pleasure of sport improves the perception and self-esteem. It is a real antidote to gloom, melancholy and depression thanks the formation of the neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, adrenaline and endorphins. No need to mention that we sleep better. Stimulating the body means also maintaining the brain : If the nervous circuits are not boosted by sport (physical exercise), our mental faculties are struggling. There is a permanent dialogue between the body and the brain. (Brain and body are permanently in dialogue.)

Stay connected to the body is essential then.

Yes, it is a really good way to express our surplus of energy and avoid sliding to the implosion, the opened door to the procession of all too frequent pathologies… and preventable!
